Ruud Groot's "Coolback"

In his own words:
The Elektor / Ground Sound combi works fine for about one month now. It's build a bit like the coolback system.
I'm still playing around with parameters, until I can measure the characteristics with a microphone. Taking your
hints into account. The systems sounds great and tuning to my ears content is sooooo easy!
The photo's in the attachment aren't high quality, but you can make out what I've gobbled together.
The Elektor amps have their own mute circuits, so no problems there. Alas the Elektor "Medium power amplifier"
from oktober 1990 wasn't that stable. All was ok with a traditional tweeter connected, but the amp's output stage
blew up before I could blink my eyes after connecting my DIY electrostats. I suspect the amp suffered from parasitic
oscillations in the output stage which is build from 3 paralleled transistors. I replaced the parallel setup with one
transistor in the output.

A close up of "mid" and "bass" amplifier.

A close up of the RS-232 PC-interface connector and analogue RCA input.

I made one adjustment to the Ground Sound PSU, bypassing the ' trigger on' zener with
a lower voltage type. So the system powers up with the lower voltage transformer.

A total "shot" of Ruud Groot's "Coolback".
