All depend on - do you have a loudspeaker "that wants to be modified" then the configuration is given - or do you want to
start from scratch. There are a lot of possibilities if you are starting all over with a new loudspeaker. What are the demands, ideas, surroundings, likings and the budget? What kind of drivers do you like? How capable should the loudspeaker actually be - with regard to sound pressure level and low end frequency extend? Does the room set a limit? Yes - that is the question for you to decide. Here are the options with a DCN23: | |
| |
2-Way Very common and popular way of building a loudspeaker - often with a dome tweeter and two 6,5 inch woofers. | ![]() |

3-Way Also very common and popular speaker configuration - with a dome tweeter, one or two 3-6,5 inch woofers as mid and one or more 6,5 - 15 inch woofer performing the bass. | ![]() |
| |
3-Way with bridged bass What differs here is that the bass woofer is more capable or demands more power. The bass woofer is typically a 10-18 inch with very high RMS power handling capacity. | ![]() |
| |
3-Way with parallel bass In this case we talking about 2 or more bass woofers in parallel or push pull coupling. The advantage of this coupling of the amplifiers is that the power supply is symmetrical loaded giving extended low-end bandwidth. | ![]() |
